Jo Barraket reviews international and local activity and research to identify the scope of academic, practitioner and policy literature on the impacts of the arts on social inclusion, identify common themes, significant contradictions and silences in this literature, and strategically inform the BSL's involvement in, or adoption of, arts-based initiatives in alleviating poverty through building social inclusion.
