Description

The Attorney-General recently declared that the government had received advice that 'Lashkar-e-Taiba has links with Australia, and therefore does pose a threat to Australia and Australian interests'. Although the Attorney-General did not elaborate on the nature of the advice or the threat, the Indian High Commissioner to Australia also claimed India had intelligence reports linking the LeT with Australia. Nigel Brew describes the organisation and asesses the threat it poses.
