The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety was established on 8 October 2018 by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd).
The Honourable Tony Pagone QC and Ms Lynelle Briggs AO were appointed as Royal Commissioners. The Honourable Richard Tracey AM RFD QC was a Royal Commissioner, until he died on 11 October 2019.

The cost of residential aged care

Australia’s aged care system: assessing the views and preferences of the general public for quality of care and future funding
The research outlined in this report shows Australians strongly support increased funding to ensure universal access to high-quality aged care services in the future. The research was conducted for the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, and is based on a survey of 10,000 adults not currently using aged care services.
