This report presents analysis of the ways Australia’s charities were growing and changing between 2014 and 2016. It uses the Annual Information Statements (AISs) provided by charities to the ACNC for the 2014 and 2016 reporting periods, thus providing an analysis of charities over three years.

This report contributes to a growing body of information about the rich and diverse social, economic and cultural contributions that charities make in Australia and internationally. This report also recognises the value of Australia’s charities and strengthens capacity for evidence-based regulation.

This report examines the ACNC’s compliance and enforcement activities between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2017. This report uses aggregated data and de-identified information to give readers an insight into the compliance work of the ACNC, and outlines their compliance focus for the year ahead.

Previously conducted in 2013 and 2015, this research and subsequent report aims to understand the changes in the general public's attitudes and beliefs regarding trust and confidence over time.
