Sexual offending in Australia 2022–23


This statistical report describes the 9,101 alleged sexual offenders proceeded against by police in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory in 2022–23. The offenders were proceeded against for offences involving a total of 8,873 identified victims.

This study describes the state of current research at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and child sexual abuse (CSA). It examines the uses of AI for the prevention and disruption of CSA, and the ways in which AI is used in CSA offending. An evidence gap map is provided to guide future research.

Supporting incarcerated mothers


An evaluation of a program supporting women in custody who have children involved in the child protection system. Under the program, child protection caseworkers are ‘co-located’ in NSW correctional centres.
