This article presents and discuss the findings from six rural and urban focus groups with young people in Australia about the use of social media and social network sites (SNS) for sexual health communication.

The Young People and Sexting in Australia report presents the findings of a qualitative study of young people’s understandings of, and responses to, current Australian laws, media and educational resources that address sexting.

Social media, including Facebook and Twitter, played an important role in crisis communication at the height of the 2011 South East Queensland floods crisis (10-16 January). This report examines the role of the short-messaging system Twitter in disseminating and sharing crisis information and updates from state and local authorities, as well as everyday citizens.
