This updated report presents preliminary research findings from data collected during the Assisting Communities through Direct Connection (ACDC) Project – a proactive outreach initiative that utilised doorknocking to initiate conversations about mental health across 27 Australian communities over three project rounds.

Centrecare’s Entrypoint Outreach Program (EPO) was a preventative early intervention pilot funded by Lotterywest designed to divert families and individuals from homelessness into housing. The brief intervention (2–6 weeks) targeted families who were newly homeless or were at immediate risk of homelessness in a very tight rental market.

This project aims to better understand what is different about living in regional areas that leads to poorer mental health and difficulties accessing support, and what further support is needed to improve the lives and wellbeing of people living in those communities.
