The Evolve program aims to transition three (former) Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) into jobs-focused social enterprises through consulting and funding. To date, this Australian pilot program has highlighted the tensions between establishing viable business models alongside a focus on social purpose.

This evaluation assessed the impact of a program aiming to place jobseekers with disability into roles by focusing on building employer confidence and capability. It found the program exceeded its original goals and a focus on the employer environment first was key to its success.

The Directing Change Scholarship program was a three-year program aimed at increasing representation of people with disability on boards through mentoring, networking and education. This evaluation found the program was successful in its aims and offered a range of benefits for program participants, including scholars, mentors and partner organisations.

This study reports on the elements of effective evidence centres, with the particular aim of informing the design of the future Disability Employment Centre of Excellence. It identifies five core, overlapping elements of centre design, providing an evidence base to inform decision-making.

This evidence review, drawing on secondary analysis of existing evidence from academic and grey literature, addresses whether and how employment redresses disadvantage; the current costs and future implications of unemployment and underemployment; and the potential and impacts of employment-focused social enterprises on employment creation and reducing disadvantage.
