The Australian Digital Inclusion Index measures three vital dimensions of digital inclusion: access, affordability, and digital ability. It shows how these dimensions change over time, according to people’s social and economic circumstances, as well as across geographic locations. This 2019 ADII report incorporates data collected up to March 2019, and revises earlier editions.

This report aims to promote collaboration and highlights opportunities to strengthen a sector-wide, multi-agency approach. It is hoped that this report will build greater awareness of the immediate challenges faced by asylum seekers navigating the local labour market, and serve as a tool for policy and service providers to advocate for change.

The purpose of this forum was to canvass the available evidence about social enterprise and the wider ecosystem, and also to identify gaps in knowledge, as well as what is needed in policy and practice to support the development of the field and its impacts.

This evidence review, drawing on secondary analysis of existing evidence from academic and grey literature, addresses whether and how employment redresses disadvantage; the current costs and future implications of unemployment and underemployment; and the potential and impacts of employment-focused social enterprises on employment creation and reducing disadvantage.

This report shows that employment-focused social enterprises are playing a critical role in improving the lives of disadvantaged Australians by offering a people-centred approach to employment support services.
