This report calls for significant change to the way communities are engaged in climate adaptation planning. With climate change reshaping lives, culture, and public health in profound ways, this issue has never been more urgent.

This research draws on a range of different evidence sources. To understand the powers and duties that local authorities hold to deliver clean air, researchers have undertaken a systematic desk-based review, interviewed a range of local government officers and councillors, and engaged with stakeholders with expert knowledge of local government and air quality.

The NSW Law Enforcement Conduct Commission has reviewed the New South Wales Police Force’s 2018-2023 strategy to improve relations with First Nations people in NSW. The findings are outlined in this report.

These guidelines provide governments, the private sector, and the non-government sector, with a practical tool for the engagement and inclusion of people with disability in community consultation, policy development and government decision-making.

This issues paper aims to reflect what the Department of Social Services has already heard from community sector organisations about current challenges and ideas for how the Australian Government could support a stronger, more diverse and independent community sector.
