Retention rates in Australian higher education
Student retention rates are a key indicator of both student success and institutional performance within Australian higher education. This report presents retention rates among domestic undergraduate students over the past seven years, with a focus on the 2022/2023 period. It finds that overall retention has decreased between 2016 and 2022.

Public partnerships for public benefit: the NSW Higher Education Strategy 2025-29
The strategy sets out a framework to enable stronger collaboration between government and universities that targets workforce needs, student pathways, equity and effective public policy. The strategy was developed in partnership with the state’s public universities. It outlines principles for collaboration and sets out four shared priorities and a series of actions.
