Gun violence in the USA is a human rights crisis. Over half a million people died of gunshot injuries between 2001 and 2017 and a further 1.3 million people sustained firearm-related injuries. This report focuses on the survivors of gun violence – many of whom experience what can be life-threatening and life-changing injuries.

The ACCC's 10th annual Targeting Scams report highlights the increasing harm of scams to the Australian community. This report seeks to inform the public about scams and identify emerging trends and techniques used by scammers to extract money and personal information from their victims.

This report examines the differences between victims of online fraud and those who shop or socialise online but are not victimised. The objective was to isolate those critical personal and behavioural indicators that make some individuals more vulnerable to online fraud than others.

The main purpose of this discussion paper is to consider how the Territory’s financial assistance scheme can be improved to better support victims of violent crimes. The paper also looks at other potential reforms for victims, including the possibility of introducing victim-offender conferencing for adult offenders in the Territory.

Findings contained in this research report indicate that police can influence the likelihood of further violence, victim satisfaction and wellbeing, and criminal justice outcomes for people involved in domestic violence cases.
