Among the many other recommendations, this report calls for the Australian government to implement a clearly articulated principle that the duty of care for the regulation of all care within the aged care residential setting ultimately rests with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

National plan to respond to the abuse of older Australians (elder abuse) 2019–2023
Developed in collaboration with state and territory governments, the National Plan establishes a framework under which governments will prioritise and report on activity to reduce the prevalence and impact of elder abuse by working together on priority areas that would benefit from national collaboration.
