An evaluation of the implementation, effectiveness and efficiency of the National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP), which offers information, education and advocacy to older Australians accessing government-funded aged care. The report highlights NACAP as a vital service that delivers meaningful support and positive outcomes for older people, with recommendations for future improvements.

Foundational supports are intended to fill the gap between NDIS-funded individual supports and mainstream services to help people with disability. Whether disability advocacy will become a foundational support is still being considered. This paper outlines some of the current issues, challenges and unresolved questions.

Together with people with disability, independent disability advocates, experts and other supporters, DANA has identified key priorities and actions for change in the next 1-2 years.

This report provides insight from the sector around the Centre’s national purpose to improve access to and quality of individual advocacy services by executing three main functions: capacity building, identifying and addressing unmet demand and need; and identifying and elevating systemic advocacy issues.

This project sought to develop a comprehensive understanding of how disability advocates could effectively support people with psychosocial disability who were living in or recently released from institutions, to gain access to relevant supports and resources, with a focus on accessing the NDIS.
