This document sets out South Australia's plan for achieving and addressing the priority reforms and socio-economic targets embedded in the Closing the Gap Agreement to ensure the lives of Aboriginal people in South Australia can improve in all cultural, social and economic aspects.

In 2021, the National Archives of Australia announced new protocols to guide its Indigenous community engagement and records management. These protocols aim to develop a culturally competent organisation that will facilitate trust between the National Archives and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This article provides a snapshot of employment by a range of characteristics, as well as some earlier data from a comparable ABS source. Figures in this article refer to people aged 15 to 74 years, unless otherwise specified.

This is the first annual data compilation report to inform the reporting on progress under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

The report explores Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people’s experiences of care and examines differences in experiences at rural and urban hospitals, and trends over time.
