Voices of care leavers: ageing with dignity after childhood institutionalisation
This study presents a comprehensive national investigation into the ageing experiences of people who spent their childhoods in forms of institutional or out-of-home care in Australia. Care Leavers and stakeholders consistently called for trauma-informed care to become the foundation of aged care practice. The report presents eight key policy and practice recommendations.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can accelerate knowledge in research, though viewed with caution by this paper. The paper provides an overview of risks, concerns and enablers. These identified issues support a cautionary approach to AI and ageing research to safeguard ethical research policy and practice that ultimately serves the health and wellbeing of vulnerable older Australians.

Changing perspectives: testing an ageism intervention
This Australian Human Rights Commission’s research aimed to contribute to a greater understanding of how negative perceptions of ageing and older adults may be shifted. The research shows that a brief, one-off ageism workshop can be a powerful tool in creating positive changes in attitudes and behaviours towards older people.

Across the world, people are living longer, but with more chronic conditions, disability and frailty. This study aimed to examine the feasibility of deriving an electronic Frailty Index (eFI) and to use the index to describe the prevalence of frailty and the prevalence with socioeconomic status and geographic remoteness.
