The federal election will be held on 21 May 2022. The Consumers Health Forum of Australia has worked with their members and stakeholders to develop this election platform that sets out the commitments sought from the major political parties.

Provision of general practitioner and related primary health services to outer metropolitan, rural, and regional Australians: interim report
This interim inquiry report recommends that the Australian government further investigates the provision and distribution of general practitioners in rural and regional Australia, and that the Department of Health should develop benchmarks for the optimal distribution of primary health professionals.

Future focused primary health care: Australia’s primary health care 10 year plan 2022-2032
This plan was developed as a high-level response to the recommendations of the Primary Health Reform Steering Group, and an extensive series of consultations. The plan aims to support primary health care providers to embrace continuing advances in technology - in telehealth and virtual care, digital health and in other health care technologies.
