This report distils existing international and national evidence pertaining to family violence against LGBTI people. It includes a review of research on the broader determinants of violence against LGBTI people which, this paper argues, have an impact on rates and patterns of family violence specific to LGBTI people.

The Australian Standards of Care and Treatment Guidelines (ASOCTG) aim to maximise quality care provision to trans and gender diverse children and adolescents across Australia, whilst recognising the unique circumstances of providing such care to this population.

This research arose out of a meeting of Western Sydney University’s (Western) ALLY network, where anecdotal concerns were voiced about the environmental conditions encountered by sexuality and gender diverse (SGD) students and staff.

The committee wishes to stress that the focus of this inquiry, as per the terms of reference, is not the legalisation of same-sex marriage, but rather to scrutinise the process that the government chose to undertake in order to reach the point where the national parliament would consider legislation on this matter.
