The System of Environmental Economic Accounting Central Framework (SEEA CF) was adopted in 2012. In one decade, it has expanded to 92 countries, and most OECD countries produced SEEA accounts in 2022. This working paper explores how national statistics producers can work towards increasing public policy use of SEEA statistics.

Ecosystem services are the benefits that society obtains from ecosystems, such as food, clean water and air. This review investigates the health benefits provided by 3 ecosystem services - air filtration, local climate regulation and recreation. The review found ecosystem services provide many benefits to human health including respiratory, cardiovascular and mental health benefits.

This report calculates the Australian economy’s direct dependence on nature and the variation in direct dependency for every major industry sector. It also calls for government to create strong environment laws that protect nature and establishing an independent regulator to enforce them.

The growing interest and momentum surrounding the regenerative agriculture (RA) movement has generated considerable debate about motivations, definitions, stakeholders and the role that scientific research plays. The aim of this paper is to propose a role for scientific activity in working with the RA movement.

This triennial report synthesises the evidence base on the state of the environment contained in domain reports since 'Environment Aotearoa 2019'. The report does not suggest any response, as it is out of scope under the report’s governing legislation.
