This report presents ways to address the growing worldwide concern of keeping children safe online, with a specific focus on two forms of online violence: child sexual abuse including grooming and sexual image abuse; and cyber aggression and harassment in the form of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, hacking and identity theft.

This report starts with an overview of the online activities of people with intellectual disability. It then examines their understanding and experiences of online abuse. Finally, it explores their information and support needs, and identifies guiding principles for resource development.

Mobile dating apps and websites are an increasingly popular and socially acceptable way of meeting people. This research reveals that there is an inherent risk associated with these platforms of being subjected to sexual harassment, aggression or violence, both online and in person.

This report is the first Australian inquiry into non-family violence stalking laws. It contains 45 recommendations to improve the ways that the justice system treats people who have experienced stalking in a non-family violence context.

Many women face online abuse simply because they have an active online presence as part of their working life. This research highlights women’s lived experiences of online abuse, and points to the need for greater action by online platforms and employers to prevent and respond to abuse.
