This paper presents robust evidence that retirement causally improves overall life satisfaction which is subsequently explained by improvements in satisfaction with one’s financial situation, free time, health, and participation in local community activities.

Since the late 1990s, the term 'commissioning' as a concept and practice has steadily gained ground. What can good commissioning look like in NSW? And what can government agencies, service providers and peak bodies do to bring this to life? These are the key questions this report seeks to answer.

Older people bring particular strengths and vulnerabilities to their communities in disaster recovery. This report draws on national and international research and policy to describe those strengths and vulnerabilities and proposes corresponding practical, community-level actions that can be incorporated into recovery plans and actions.

Without the willing contribution of the community on a large scale, there is little hope of a successful conclusion to the current public health crisis.
