The overarching aim of the Positive Interventions for Perpetrators of Adolescent violence in the home (PIPA) project was to address a gap in knowledge concerning adolescent violence in the home (AVITH) —specifically, the initial legal response that adolescents and their families receive when their use of AVITH comes to the attention of the legal system.

Repeat domestic and family violence among young people


This study analysed Victoria Police reported incident data on almost 4,000 young people (aged 12–18) involved in domestic and/or family violence. The findings highlight the need for timely, targeted and graduated responses to domestic and family violence among young people.

Female perpetrated domestic violence: prevalence of self-defensive and retaliatory violence


Differences between male and female perpetrated domestic violence are widely acknowledged. However, there is a lack of Australian data on the circumstances of female perpetrated violence. The findings in this report highlight the different motivations for female perpetrated domestic violence, and the importance of understanding the complex dynamics of violent episodes.
