The Office of the eSafety Commissioner commissioned research into how older Australians perceive and use digital devices and the internet. This research has been undertaken to inform development of the Be Connected program to provide resources and support training to increase the confidence, skills and online safety of older Australians.

This report recommends that the Department of the House of Representatives, in conjunction with the Department of Parliamentary Services, work within existing resources to update the House e-petitions system and web page design to improve user experience and accessibility for all users.

The central message of this report is that the impact of digital regulation should be viewed through the prism of human rights law. Government attempts to control the digital world pose an inevitable tension between two fundamental human rights - fair access to the internet and personal rights to privacy and freedom of expression.

This resource aims to inform consideration of any changes to regulatory settings that may be needed to support the rollout and adoption of 5G services. It provides estimates of the costs and benefits that may stem from 5G and the impacts on businesses and consumers.

This report details the ACCC’s recommendations, actions and findings in relation to a broad range of communications services, including broadband and voice services, aggregation and transmission services, data centres and content delivery networks and the internet of things.
