Abstract:

The government’s strategy for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) aims to increase gender equity in STEM education and careers.

This strategy offers a vision and opportunity to guide stakeholders, as they go about identifying and agreeing upon the specific actions required to build the strongest STEM workforce possible to support Australia’s prosperity.

This audit assessed the effectiveness of the NSW Department of Education's workforce plans and strategies in responding to the demand for secondary teachers in STEM-related disciplines.
