Climate change is a major risk to sustainable development and is threatening global efforts to eradicate poverty. This strategy document underpins the Australian government's climate investments and assists the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to meet Australia’s climate finance commitments.

This paper is intended to start an initial mapping and exploration of the expanding cooperative ecosystem involving Moscow and Beijing. It will be important to track the trajectory and assess the implications of these Sino-Russian technological collaborations, given the risks and threats that could result from those advances.

Humanitarian action has been a mainly international endeavour, where power continues to lie with donors, UN agencies and large INGOs. This report aims to inform a more local humanitarian action, reflecting on the evidence from several case studies, as well as the interviews and discussions that occurred in the final stage of this research project.

In the last five years, several major investigations have demonstrated how easy it is to set up and manage a legal entity without having to provide information about its beneficial owner. This report argues that public registers of beneficial ownership of companies should be the norm, allowing authorities to determine who’s 'behind the wheel.'

Disinformation, as the latest iteration of propaganda suitable for a digitally interconnected world, shows no signs of abating. This paper provides a holistic overview of the current state of play and outlines how European Union and U.S cooperation can mitigate disinformation in the future.
