A problem often encountered by contractors is that the information provided is not always equal to the information needed in the Building Information Model (BIM). This applied research showed that design manuals should reflect new project delivery methods to support lean principles for all parties involved in the project.

This paper reports on the implementation of a digital Lean Construction Management (LCM) approach to construction projects. The use of QR codes, Kanban cards and daily meetings demonstrates a new platform to add value to the BIM model and to construction site collaboration.
