The policy quality framework: quality standards for written policy and other advice
This framework defines standards for written policy and advice across four areas: context, analysis, advice and action. It helps agencies assess quality and ensure advice is fit for purpose. While focused on written products, oral advice should reflect the same principles, even if not all details apply.

This report has been prepared through a partnership between the Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives (OOC) and the Institute for Governance and Policy Studies at Victoria University of Wellington. The primary purpose of this partnership is to “develop policy options for parliamentary scrutiny of long-term governance and stewardship.”

This document summarises the compelling case for developing a New Zealand ‘Climate Policy Modelling Initiative’ (CPMI). This initiative would coordinate and enhance delivery of modelling across multiple providers. This work is informed by several workshops that brought together economic modellers from a range of organisations.
