In Australia, workers with disability can receive payments below the national minimum wage under the Supported Wage System. This brief recommends a phase-out of the Supported Wage System and productivity-based wage calculations by 2034 to lift minimum wages for employees with disability to 100% of the national minimum wage.

Out of gas: managing the decline of gas in Australia
As Australian households and businesses search for cheaper, cleaner and more efficient fuels, they are using less gas. Governments have largely ignored this decline. This report calls on the federal and state governments to take more control of declining gas production and use, to achieve climate targets and protect users from high prices.

The key challenge with the Australian medical workforce is that, while estimates suggest that there may be enough medical practitioners, they are not optimally distributed across specialties, sectors, settings and locations to meet the needs of the Australian community.

The report is a response to the Australian Government’s Migration Strategy. The report analyses the employer sponsored temporary Skills in Demand (SID) visa program across three streams from December 2024 to 30 September 2025. The early analysis suggests that the SID program is broadly meeting the Migration Strategy objectives, but data is still limited.
