The purpose of this paper is to describe an initiative by Cancer Australia and Menzies School of Health Research to develop Australia’s first national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cancer framework, using a process of co-design with relevant stakeholders.

A key outcome of ‘Building Resilience in Indigenous Communities through Engagement: A Focus on Biosecurity Threats’ extension project was to socialise the Aboriginal and Maori Indigenous Engagement Models in their respective countries to audiences either responding to a biosecurity incursion or directly impacted by the incursion.

The Advancing the Treaty Process with Aboriginal Victorians Bill 2018 (‘Advancing the Treaty Bill’) was introduced in the Legislative Assembly by the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, the Hon. Natalie Hutchins, on 7 March 2018.

This guide provides a broad overview of some of the most significant historical initiatives, events and policies aimed towards negotiating a treaty or treaty-like agreement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders that have occurred at the Commonwealth level, as well as a summary of recent developments at the state and territory level.
