The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Performance Framework (HPF) monitors progress in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes, health system performance and the broader determinants of health.
Beginning in 2006, the 2017 report is the sixth biennial report. It shows encouraging improvements in aspects of health, including a decline in the overall health burden among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. However, it also shows that concerning health gaps remain between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
Previous HPF reports and further background information can be accessed from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Performance Framework page on the Department of Health website.
