Auction process for allocation of broadband wireless access licences in regional areas

Publisher
Broadband Regional planning Licensing
Description

ACMA has introduced a new price-based allocation process for the allocation of apparatus licences for broadband wireless access services in the 1900-1920 frequency band in regional and remote areas. In response to unexpectedly high market demand for some licences, ACMA has decided to auction broadband wireless access licences in the frequency band 1900-1920 MHz. ACMA considers that a price-based allocation is the simplest way to ensure fairness and the efficient use and allocation of spectrum where demand for spectrum exceeds supply.
