This report examines Indigenous people's participation in vocational education and training (VET) and adult and community education (ACE) learning programs across Australia's desert regions. It provides statistical and descriptive information on desert settlements, infrastructure, service access, participation in VET, supply and demand, pathways to work, issues affecting service delivery, occupational aspirations, aligning services with emerging local economies and livelihoods, practitioner prspectives, issues affecting outcomes, and successful VET programs. A support document is also available, containing more detailed case studies of 4 of the programs: The Murdi Paaki Healthy Housing Worker Program; DESART; Waltja Tjutangku Palyapayi; and Newmont Tanami.
