Description of policy changes towards aged care facilities in relation to issues of sexual and physical assault. This includes some important changes to how incidents of sexual and physical abuse are investigated and resolved by aged care facilities, including the introduction of a mandatory reporting system. There is also a discussion of some issues the reform package raises, including complex issues surrounding the reporting of sexual assault of older women, and the nature of sexual assault within institutional care facilities.
