This interim report focuses on findings about the pricing of the big four banks’ home loans during the period 1 January 2019 to 31 October 2019 (the price monitoring period). The ACCC examined a range of documents and data on the prices paid by customers for their home loans, including collecting significant information from the big four banks. Many of the findings reinforced or built on findings from the previous residential mortgage price inquiry.

The final report, to be provided to the Treasurer by 30 September 2020, will examine impediments to home loan customers switching between lenders.
