Description
The final report of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety was tabled on 1 March 2021 and included 148 recommendations across five volumes and more than 4000 pages.
This Perspectives Brief examines the themes of the report and provides a way forward for the Australian Government that is transparent and promotes public good. Reforms will be required to shift from a market-oriented approach to aged care to the human rights approach advocated by the Royal Commission. The Australian Government has a responsibility to all Australians to ensure the findings of the Royal Commission are urgently translated to action.
