This strategy document builds on the work of the first cross-sectoral infrastructure strategy delivered in 2016, and presents a vision for a thriving, inclusive and sustainable Victoria over the next 30 years.

It contains 94 recommendations for projects, policies, and reforms, spanning many types of infrastructure. They are based on extensive evidence, research and consultation and informed by innovative land use and transport modelling. These recommendations represent a capital cost of around $100 billion over 30 years.

The strategy is divided into four themes focused on:

  • confronting long term challenges
  • managing urban change
  • harnessing infrastructure for productivity and growth
  • developing regional Victoria.

Victoria’s infrastructure strategy provides a practical roadmap for action over the next 30 years, in a range of public policy areas including energy, transport, social infrastructure, freight and housing.
