New Remote Engagement Program: discussion paper | 570.16 KB |
Design of the new Remote Engagement Program is underway. It is scheduled to replace the existing Community Development Program (CDP) in 2023, subject to government endorsement.
The new program will be developed in partnership with remote communities, service providers and all levels of government to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities have the best possible chance to share in Australia’s economy through improved employment participation.
Over the next two years, the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) will work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and remote communities to develop the new program. This way, the program will be fit-for-purpose and better match the needs of Indigenous Australians and communities, reflecting the diversity of remote Australia.
