Description
The ACT government has prepared this discussion paper on how it proposes to lower the bet limit on poker machines or electronic gaming machines (EGMs) from $10 to $5 and to introduce a $100 credit (or load-up) limit for EGMs.
Community and key stakeholder views are being sought on the government’s proposals outlined in the Discussion Paper including the staged introduction of a Central Monitoring System for electronic gaming machines.
The aim is to reduce the amount of money a person can spend during a session of playing the pokies.
The ACT government is committed to reducing harm from electronic gambling machines while supporting the sustainability of community clubs and the valuable contribution clubs make to the ACT community.
