This is a report of the statutory review of the operation of sections inserted into the Crimes Act 1900 in the Australian Capital Territory by the Crimes (Consent) Amendment Act 2022. The review aimed to determine whether these sections are clear and effective. It also examined whether the Amendment Act had any unintended consequences.

This inquiry was established to ensure that the ACT's framework for progressing criminal investigations and prosecutions is robust, fair and respects the rights of those involved. This report outlines the findings from the inquiry, conducted by Walter Sofronoff KC.

The ACT government recognises that the majority of Australians support voluntary assisted dying with appropriate safeguards in place. This consultation paper seeks the views of the ACT community about how voluntary assisted dying should be implemented in the ACT.

The focus of this review is on those technologies that support behaviour change among individuals involved in the criminal justice system and, in particular, on those technologies that aim to contribute towards the goal of reducing reoffending.

The ACT government has prepared this discussion paper on how it proposes to lower the bet limit on poker machines or electronic gaming machines (EGMs) from $10 to $5 and to introduce a $100 credit (or load-up) limit for EGMs.
