This report is based on a second survey of users of Jobactive employment services, the first of which was published in 2018. The title of this report reflects ACOSS’s commitment to amplifying people’s experiences of employment services.
Based on a survey of 299 people, this second edition in the series highlights the distress people experience when trying to survive on low incomes, while simultaneously responding to onerous mutual obligation requirements and payment suspensions.
The results show that people who have been out of paid work for a long time need a more personalised service where they can take the initiative and have more control over their job search.
