| Voice Referendum: understanding the referendum from a human rights perspective | 2.84 MB |
This resource kit is designed to promote greater awareness and understanding of human rights principles as they relate to the Uluru Statement, specifically the upcoming referendum and the proposed Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
Within this document, you will find information intended to help you consider whether the Voice could help to support the realisation of Indigenous rights.
The Commission’s contribution to the 2023 referendum is independent and non-partisan, appropriate to its role as a National Human Rights Institution (NHRI). They encourage and support the Australian public to consider the Voice proposal and associated referendum through a human rights lens.
