A framework to help the Australian Government better design, administer, and deliver community grants. It highlights being collaborative, transparent, innovative and focused on outcomes. The framework will help agencies administering community grants work more consistently with the sector.

The framework was developed following public consultation to respond to key issues facing the community sector. It is accompanied by the Ways of working statement.

The framework contains actions organised around five pillars:

• build and maintain engagement
• greater certainty and sufficiency of funding
• reduce administrative burden
• encourage diversity and flexibility
• develop capability and promote innovation.
