This submission responds to the Attorney-General's Privacy Act Review Report. It addresses selected consultation questions and includes a dossier on children and young people’s privacy harms. The submission considers issues related to:

• risks associated with the collection and use of personal information
• consent to collect and use information
• protections to mitigate privacy risks relating to the development and use of facial recognition technology and other biometric information
• impacts on individual rights
• impacts for direct marketing and targeting.
