Description
This study explores how adults with severe acquired brain injury (ABI) experience community and social participation during inpatient rehabilitation and the transition back to community life. It found that, despite being a core rehabilitation goal, community and social participation were not prioritised in practice, leading to missed opportunities to prepare people for life beyond hospital and limiting their ability to re‑engage meaningfully in community settings.
