Report
Description

The provision of supports for people with disabilities is a cornerstone of an inclusive and equitable society. In New South Wales, ensuring that children and young people with disability or developmental delays can access the right foundational supports, at the right time, is crucial for enabling every child to reach their full potential.

This interim report examines the supports available for children and young people with developmental delay or disability in the state, the challenges associated with accessing these supports, and the ways in which particular communities experience these challenges differently.

The report focuses on what can be done now to strengthen supports around children and families while national reforms progress. The 15 findings and 17 recommendations emphasise investing earlier, supporting trusted, locally‑embedded services, improving navigation so there is 'no wrong door' for families and designing reforms with, not for, people with lived experience.
