This guide is written by people with intellectual disability themselves and more than 40 people with intellectual disability contributed to the development of the resource through community workshops and engagement groups. The guide covers the nature of intellectual disability, health and co-occurring conditions, strengths, and the struggles caused both by the condition itself and by societal barriers and discrimination. The guide is intended for people with intellectual disability, their families and carers, health professionals, educators, and the general community.
