The Australian Workforce and Productivity Agency (AWPA) is developing skills and workforce research on the Professional, Scientific and Technical services industry division.
AWPA has identified that the sector is particularly complex and diverse. It includes multiple industry activities and related occupations that do not overlap, and are not especially interrelated in their demand for particular skills.
Therefore, AWPA is undertaking a series of subprojects on specific occupations related to the Professional, Scientific and Technical services industry division.
The outcome for each subproject will be a final report that provides a focused, targeted analysis of each occupation/workforce. These reports will include a set of workforce development strategies for industry, the tertiary sector and government to boost the supply of skills, improve ongoing skills development, and promote the effective utilisation of skills.
The first subproject is focused on the Information and Communications Technology workforce.
