Description

This report from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, Tom Calma, analyses the current approach to Indigenous health and proposes a campaign to achieve equality in health status. The campaign recommends that governments commit to achieving equality of health status and life expectation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous people within 25 years.

The report also considers the initial impact of the new arrangements for the administration of Indigenous affairs.
