In response to identified gaps in online safety education, eSafety undertook research to support the development of a framework for online safety education in Australian schools, from K-12. This report focuses on the rapid review of evidence to assess current understandings of best practice in online safety education.

This research report explores the impact that COVID-19 has had on Australians’ online activity including digital confidence, negative online experiences, support and training needs.

Hate speech is recognised as a growing online issue which can negatively impact a person’s mental health, general wellbeing and online engagement. This research report is the result of collaboration between the eSafety Commissioner in Australia, Netsafe in New Zealand and United Kingdom’s Safer Internet Centre.

This research found that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women do not experience substantially different impacts of technology-facilitated abuse from those felt by other women. However, some impacts appear to be amplified due to cultural or community factors.
