This essay investigates technological innovation and the rise of digital platformisation in the care sector, drawing on research that explores the features of digital care platforms and care management platforms for aged care in Australia. The essay outlines two distinct types of digital platforms in operation.

This snapshot highlights the lived experience of those on low incomes in southern Queensland, trying to find a home that is both affordable and appropriate. The findings continue to expose an alarming trend in the private rental market. It found there were no affordable and appropriate rental properties for households on income support with children.

This essay critically examines the intersection of Adverse Childhood Experiences with Social Determinants of Health relating to Early Childhood Development and social inclusion for children. It explores the role of social workers in co-creating Protective and Compensatory Experiences through their practice to support children’s lifelong positive health outcomes.

This submission highlights how the Australian youth justice system is failing children and young people through early exclusion at school, missed disability support, unsafe detention practices and inconsistent access to education. The submission calls for strong Commonwealth leadership to set enforceable national standards that protect children’s rights and safety across all jurisdictions.

Mental health and homelessness are deeply interconnected, yet temporary supported accommodation (TSA) services struggle to address this intersectionality. This paper critically analyses TSA services, exploring the question: ‘How can TSA be improved to better support individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health concerns?’ It explores how integrating psychologically informed environments within TSA could enhance their capacity.
